WPATH 2026 Symposium - Symposium Abstract Submission

Symposium abstracts should include cutting edge research, cross-cultural approaches, as well as interdisciplinary approaches in the submission categories.  
The time allotted for the Symposium will be 75 minutes. Only submissions that have 3-5 presenters will be considered. Preference will be given to submissions that feature diverse speakers across disciplines, locations, and experiences.
Abstract titles should be descriptive (200 characters or less). If you wish to submit images with your abstract, images must be smaller than 525 x 343 pixels. Files must be less than 50MB. Allowed file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg. Up to 2 image uploads are allowed.

Short abstracts are the synopsis of your presentation and should be an overview of your proposal.  Long abstract description is the full description of your abstract submission.  

Symposium abstract submissions must be submitted with the following components in addition to your personal and demographic information:

  1. Abstract Title
  2. Statement of Significance
  3. Topic
  4. 3-5 Learning Objectives
  5. Teaching Methods used
  6. Short and Long Abstract
  7. Presenter Qualifications
  8. Introduction/Background
  9. Specific aims 
  10. Results
  11. Conclusions
  12. 6 Questions with Multiple Choice Answers*
    1. Answers should include (1 Correct, 3 Incorrect) to allow for the submission to be accredited.
    2. References and rational for each question
    3. These questions should be easily answered by anyone who is viewing the content.
    4. You will be required to enter these questions before your application is considered complete.

Procedures and Deadlines

  • All submissions must be received by Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 11:59pm Eastern Time (GMT-4). Accepted speakers will be notified by mid-June.
  • Disclosures for ALL authors are required within the submission form, as are their institutions, city, state, country, etc.
  • Abstracts are reviewed and approved for inclusion in the program by the WPATH 2026 Abstract Review Committee, the WPATH 2026 Steering Committee, and the WPATH Board of Directors.
  • ALL presenting authors are required to register/pay for their attendance at the meeting (full meeting in-person registration, based on your membership status).
  • Only the correspondent that is entered as such in the submission, will receive an email message confirming the receipt of the abstract. Correspondents will need to notify their co-authors that the confirmation was received.
  • Complete instructions for presentations will be provided with your notification of acceptance.
