AIR TRAVEL INFORMATION
The Gaylord Opryland Resort is easily accessible via Nashville International Airport (BNA), just 10-20 minutes from the hotel.
Story behind the code "BNA" - Many people assume the "N" and "A" stand for Nashville, but wonder where the "B" comes from. The airport code stands for Berry Field Nashville. It was named in honor of Colonel Harry S. Berry, a decorated WWI and WWII Army Air Force commander who later served as the state's Works Progress Administration (WRA) administrator. He oversaw the construction of the original airport, which officially opened in 1937.
The Ultimate Music City!
True to its nickname, BNA hosts daily live music performances across multiple stages throughout the terminals. Because so many major musicians call Nashville home, BNA is one of the most common airports for celebrity sightings. It is completely normal to pass country stars, rock icons, or famous indie artists carrying their own gear through the terminals.
