Welcome

We are thrilled to host you at Lumina Foundation’s 2024 State Policy Retreat: Forward Together.  The retreat will take place Wednesday, September 11, 2024 - Friday, September 13, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The retreat aims to provide key strategic leaders in postsecondary education and workforce with focused time away from their daily commitments to reflect, assess current opportunities and challenges, and align strategic direction for the year ahead. More than thirty states are sending cross-sector teams to the retreat this year to collaborate with local, state, and national policy experts, Lumina's leadership and other foundation leaders, and peers from different states.

The agenda features a mix of speakers and workshops highlighting the nation’s leading postsecondary education policy efforts. Our plenaries will focus on attainment and value, national research and trends, and strategic finance. We will offer three workshops on automating admissions and financial aid, revising state attainment goals, and implementing strategic communications. You will have the opportunity to learn more and RSVP for the workshops in August. We will also host 10 break-out sessions on a range of topics including, but not limited to, short-term credentials, industry partnerships, transfer, student parents and basic needs, and affordability. State teams will have three dedicated times throughout the agenda to debrief and strategize, and Lumina will provide networking and connection opportunities throughout.

Now more than ever, we have the opportunity to move forward together with a vision for postsecondary education that unites us all.
