What to Expect at the CA LULAC Convention
Tips for Student Scholars
As a student, there are two ways to register:
- If you are over 18, you can register here.
- If you are under 18 and your parent/guardian is attending with you, you can have your parent/guardian register you both here.
- If you are under 18 and your parent is not attending, you can have your chaperone register you here.
Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a confirmaiton email. Be sure to attend the Student Orientation on Friday—it’s a great way to get introduced to the event, meet other attendees, and prepare for the exciting weekend ahead.

Networking Tips
Attending the CA LULAC Convention isn’t just about sessions and keynotes—it’s a valuable opportunity to build genuine connections. Networking is essentially about relationships—one introduction at a time. Here’s how to make it meaningful:
Make Introductions
If you’re in a group and notice others haven’t met yet, take a moment to introduce them. A simple mention of names and affiliations can spark authentic and valuable conversations.
Start Conversations
Small talk can open big doors. While waiting for a session to begin or grabbing coffee, try asking:
-
“How are you enjoying the convention so far?”
-
“What session did you just come from?”
Casual chats like these can lead to deeper discussions—or even lasting friendships and collaborations.
These small actions can help you stand out and connect with people who share your interests.
Follow Up
After the convention, connect with new contacts on LinkedIn, Instagram, or Bluesky. Reaching out within a few days helps them remember who you are and keeps the conversation going.
