Why This Moment Matters
In 2008, the postsecondary attainment movement set out to transform education into a pathway to economic and social mobility for millions of Americans. Through our collective efforts, the national attainment rate has risen from 38% to 55%, demonstrating the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change. This progress has not only opened doors for individuals but also contributed over $14 trillion to the U.S. economy through a more educated and innovative workforce.

While this milestone is worth celebrating, the work is far from finished. Persistent barriers continue to limit opportunities for millions of students. As we reflect on 15 years of progress, we look ahead with a renewed commitment to ensuring that education remains a transformative force—creating credentials and degrees that lead to good jobs, stronger communities, and brighter futures.
