This innovative trainee offering dives into the foundations of positive neuropsychology and applications to personal and professional development. Expect to learn the four domains of the CAPE model intended to promote brain and cognitive health, strategies to assess and provide feedback related to key areas of positive neuropsychology, including emotional, behavioral health, and cultural factors. Finally, we review the positive neuropsychology framework within a 360 degree model, including optimization of patient and self care.
Learning Objectives: 1: Review the foundations of positive neuropsychology, including the 4 domains of the C.A.P.E. model intended to promote brain and cognitive health. 2: Discuss strategies to assess and provide feedback related to the key areas of positive neuropsychology, including considerations of emotional/behavioral health and cultural factors. 3: Consider applications of positive neuropsychology in the context of a 360 model, including optimizing patient care and self-care. Trainee C: Advocacy, Leadership, and Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)
This workshop addresses the critical areas of advocacy and leadership in neuropsychology through the lens of social determinants of health and health-related social needs. Our all-star panel will discuss how to adopt field-facing SDOH awareness, responsible data collection, patient intake, interviewing and feedback. They will provide tips on how to become more involved in leadership and advocacy events throughout stages of training and early career, including how to find your niche and clinical identity. Finally, we discuss how we as a field can promote inclusion of individuals from minoritized backgrounds, and share the value of neuropsychology with the public most in need.
Learning Objectives: 1: How can we adopt field-facing SDOH awareness, responsibility and inclusivity from data collection, patient intake, interviewing, testing, and feedback? 2: How can we become more involved in leadership and advocacy events throughout stages of our training and career to feel we are making a difference? 3: How can we as a field promote inclusion of individuals from minoritized backgrounds in our training programs, and promote the value of neuropsychology through a SDOH/unmet HRSN lens to the public most at need?
